Society, Decline of - A mom and daughter die of hunger

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:

What do you think? Is our society on the brink of a collapse ! Or there is a ray of hope somewhere?

Not long ago, a retired College Professor died of cancer, and his wife died too of hunger. She was found with her head kneeling on the feet of her dead husband.

The causes were not difficult to comprehend. The sharks within the education department did not release the dues of the late Professor, and delayed his payment to a degree that his soul left for eternal abode. No one was ever caught for creating this horrible scenario. The media too, appears to have forgotten that case.

Now, we have this news. A mom, and her daughter, both died due to no food available to them.

The question is this : What has happened to our society. These two poor souls were not seen for over one week. The neighbours, did they not know about their poor economic state? Why did they not offer some food to them on a daily basis!

Dear neighbours, similar events are taking place in our society with an increased frequency. The street crimes, robberies, and murders are taking place, because we have stopped taking care of our neighbours. In Islam, a neighbour is a person who happens to be close to you. On the streets, in a bus, near your home. Anywhere.

So, where are we. Why have we stopped making community contacts, and why we are not supporting each other.
