Ladies and Gentlement, CPLI Community
Salaam. Here is a reply received from the Caltex mother company, Chevron.
We would not bet upon a positive result at this stage. Let us pray that something good would come out of this in our community support ......
We wonder if there are any genuine Corporate Responsibility sponsors sympathetic to our cause, and available for our area on the international scene ...

The CPLI Budget - Donors are explored now
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
Salaam. A nice day to you all.
We now have a daunting task of raising over Rs. 16 lacs (1.6 Million) to support our initiative in an ideal manner. Though we might start the security operations with some scaled down activities soon. For this we require a minimum of 200 members, and some donors, to acquire the basic capital items.
We are now sending out eMails to a selective group of Corporations, which believe in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and do their bit in supporting community projects like ours.
Here is a sample of such an eMail sent by us:

Dear CEO
Salaam. A nice day to you.
We the residents of Block 14, Gulistan e Jauhar, Karachi, ( around 200 households are expected to become member of this Initiative soon. Later it would be expanded further) have recognized a need for establishing Community Policing Liasion, to create a safe neighbourhood environment. This is as a result of a spate of robberies that have resulted in the area over the past few months.
In order to provide a legal framework, we have approached CPLC (The Citizen Police Liasion Committee) Karachi. They have agreed to assist us too.
Meanwhile, among others, we require some key equipment to support the Community Policing in our area:
1- A wireless set, Costs around Rs. 200,000
2- 4 Motorbikes, with sirens, strobe lights, Cost around Rs. 70,000 each (125 CC)
3- A Suzuki Pickup (1200 CC), with hood, seats, sirens, and strobe lights, estimated cost Rs. 500,000
4- Construction of a 4 room office to house the Registered NGO's Wireless set and other operations (A donor has been found), Costs around Rs. 300,000
Dear CEO, we know that your company widely believes in the Corporate Social Responsibility paradigm, and we request you to please consider our Community Request, and provide us some time to meet you to explain the Project.

On these web pages you will find the names and addresses of the Managing Committee, new members, and allied information like the budget for our project. There are over 1,400 house holds / plots in Block 14, and eventually we aim to bring all of them under this umbrella.
We look forward to receiving your response soon.
Wishing all the best to your Corporation.
