CPLC to link its video network with Command & Control Centre
Oct 15, 2008 -- KARACHI: The Citizen Police Liaison Committee has decided to link its video surveillance network in DHA and Federal B Area industrial zones to the city government’s command & control centre, revealed CPLC Chief Sharfuddin Memon on Tuesday, during a visit to the CDGK Command and Control Centre at Civic Centre.
He was leading a delegation of CPLC officers, including Haneef Moosa, Shaukat Suleman, Ahmed Chinoy, Tanveer Muhammad and Ali Haji.
The CPLC chief praised the development in the city under the command of City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and said that the nazim has made Karachi a role model for the whole country. He also noted that the command and control centre has helped control crime and has successfully maintained traffic flow on various important roads. He said that introducing modern infrastructure has promoted industrial and commercial activity in Karachi.
Memon said that his organization will continue to work with the city government. He further said that in order to bring about more improvement in this system, the CPLC will form a committee to work out short and long term strategies and appoint a focal person to maintain full coordination with the city government. nni
